The Cleveland Monsters, AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets, hosted Coast Guard Hockey as part of their “Salute to Service” Night, presented by Ohio CAT, at The Quicken Loans Arena Saturday night.
Prior to the action on Saturday night, Ohio CAT donated $5,000 as well as ice time to the Coast Guard Hockey Organization, with two teams from the Coast Guard facing off in a hockey game Saturday afternoon at The Q. Members were able to participate throughout the event as they also took on the task of tossing T-shirts into the stands for fans.
Coast Guard Hockey was also on hand raffling off two jerseys, the proceeds of which will be split between the Coast Guard Foundation and Coast Guard Enlisted Memorial Foundation.
A portion of the proceeds from this weekend’s sale of Monsters camo hats will be donated to Operation Hat Trick, which raises awareness and support for the recovery of service members and veterans injured during combat.
Thanks to the Cleveland Monsters, Ohio CAT, and LT Steve Henderson for making this a memorable day!
